MS Focus at Sea Notebook - Part 1
Natalie Blake’s Log
Sunday, April 8
So far it’s smooth sailing on the Celebrity Eclipse for our 2018 MS Focus at Sea educational cruise. We began this morning session with “Chair Yoga and Guided Meditation,” presented by Stacie Dooreck, a certified yoga instructor and author.
After we awakened our senses with yoga, we took a “Journey to Wellness” with Anna Berry, a physical therapist with Eula and Andrew C Carlos Rehabilitation and Wellness Program at the Shepherd MS Center in Atlanta. Anna explained the relationship between Health and Wellness.
“Our Port to Port Support,” which is always a popular program, gave both those individuals with MS and their partners an opportunity to share their experiences and to meet others who are “in the same boat.” This program always helps to break the ice. It gives those who are participating in our cruise this week the opportunity to meet others who have traveled from around the country who are also affected by MS.
Tonight we are looking forward to dinner together as a group, then a show in the Equinox’s theatre. We are hoping to talk MS Focus’ Derrick Lee into singing at Karaoke tonight. It’s always a treat for our participants!
Tomorrow is another full day at seas as we head for Aruba.
